A message from Bob Eikey, Director - Junior High Power Rifle Pennsylvania Rifle and Pistol Association
It
was great to see so many Juniors out at Reade this weekend. We
all had a great time and it was a beautiful day. There were
several new shooters. All did remarkably well. Next time
you see Josh Chambers be sure to congratulate him on being high
sharpshooter. Great job Josh!!! Keep up the good work. Looking to the future: There
is an across the course match at SAG this coming Sunday. They go
out to 500 yards so this is a good place to work on 200 and 300 yard
zeros. Prone slow is at 500 yards. This is a very good
substitute for 600 as you can expect to experience some wind at 500. See http://www.spacgb.com/
for details including directions, registration and match start
times. When you open the site be sure to scroll down to see the
links.
SAG also has some practice times / dates on the calendar
and I will be at most of these events. ALL local Juniors
should take advantage of the proximity of this range to Pittsburgh and
come out to practice. I plan on attending this match. I hope to see you there. Please
note: I am looking for range names / locations and contact information
for any and all clubs which shoot organized high power rifle matches in
the state of PA. I wish to bring all of these clubs together and
let them know that they have an organization which wants to support
their Junior efforts and help get their Juniors to the Big range in
Ohio. The first step in doing this is to put together a list of
e-mail addresses of both range officers and Junior shooters. So
if you can contribute either the names and e-mails of Junior shooters
or the names and e-mails/phone numbers of club officers I would be much
obliged. We are off to a great start. lets keep it up! Robert M. Eikey Director - Junior High Power Rifle Pennsylvania Rifle and Pistol Association 3012 Ironwood Circle Jeannette, PA 15644 412-874-6402 (Cell) 724-733-1466 (Home)
